Hello, Beautiful!

My name is Ashley Pettey, and I’ve lived in Taunton, MA all my life.  I remember going to hair salons as a child and thinking how cool and glamorous hairstylists were, and I wanted to become one someday. Then I had a few experiences with stylists cutting off more hair than I asked for, or talking me out of a color I wanted, and I vowed never to do that to my guests. I’ve also always had hair that’s extremely thick, wavy and frizzy and I was never able to style it no matter how hard I tried!

These experiences have influenced how I do hair in a big way.  I specialize in beautiful low maintenance, lived-in colors and cuts, and I love teaching my guests how to best care for and style their hair at home. When my guests look great in between appointments, that makes me look good!

I realize not everyone wants to come to the salon every 4-6 weeks, so if that sounds like you, let’s talk about colors that will grow out beautifully and require less maintenance. My goal is for my guests’ best hair ever to fit their lifestyle, not the other way around!

In 2005 I earned my cosmetology license and started working at a salon on Newbury Street in Boston. I worked there for 6 years until the birth of my first child, when I needed to work closer to home. Since then, for the past 12 years I’ve been proudly serving the Easton, MA community at Makeovers Salon and Spa.

​

I got married and became a mom and stepmom at 23 years old, so I spend most of my time outside the salon with my husband and beautiful kids. We love to get out of the house when weather allows and go hiking, camping, to the beach or pool, or just the local park. And before bed every night, I’d love to say that I read, but actually I watch an episode or 2 of whatever show I’m currently bingeing on Netflix, Hulu or HBO!
